Terms of service.
Effective · May 2026 — draft for review
These terms are an honest first draft. Before launch they will be reviewed by a proptech-savvy solicitor. Treat anything below as directional, not final. If something here matters to you, ask us.
These terms govern your use of Veredos. By creating an account, joining the engineer network, or otherwise using the platform, you agree to the provisions below. We've written them in plain English where possible, but the law occasionally requires the long sentences.
What the service is
Veredos is a software platform that helps landlords, letting agents and HMO operators manage property compliance, and that connects them to a network of vetted engineers, electricians and other trades for the underlying inspection and remedial work.
Veredos does not perform the physical compliance work itself. Work contracted through the platform is performed by independent engineers, who hold their own qualifications, insurance and contractual relationships with customers.
Your account
To use the platform you must be at least 18 years old and either acting on behalf of a UK organisation, or be a UK landlord, or be a qualified engineer. You agree to:
- Provide accurate and current information about yourself or your organisation.
- Keep your login credentials confidential.
- Tell us promptly if you believe your account has been compromised.
- Be responsible for all activity that takes place under your account.
Compliance data and certificates
Veredos provides the system of record for your compliance data. You retain ownership of all data you upload. We process it solely for the purposes of operating the service, providing reminders, facilitating bookings and complying with our legal obligations.
Compliance status indicators (compliant, due soon, overdue, missing) are calculated based on the dates and information you provide. They do not constitute legal or regulatory advice. You remain responsible for meeting your statutory obligations as a landlord, agent or HMO operator.
Engineer network
Engineers on the platform are vetted manually by Veredos — including verification of registration with the issuing body, confirmation of public liability insurance and reference checks. Vetting is not a guarantee of work quality, however, and Veredos is not a party to any contract formed between a customer and an engineer through the platform.
Engineers warrant that their certifications and insurance remain current throughout their use of the platform, and undertake to inform Veredos within 7 days of any change.
Fees
Veredos charges a software subscription to customers and a transparent platform fee to engineers on completed bookings. Fees are set out in your subscription agreement or your engineer onboarding pack and may change with 30 days' notice.
During the design-partner period, founder-level pricing applies and is honoured for the duration of your continuous subscription.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the platform to misrepresent the compliance status of any property.
- Forge, alter or fraudulently upload any compliance certificate.
- Reverse engineer, scrape or attempt to interfere with platform security.
- Resell or sublicense access without our written consent.
- Use the platform for unlawful purposes or to infringe third-party rights.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these provisions.
Liability
Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under English law.
Subject to that, our aggregate liability under these terms in any 12-month period is limited to the fees you have paid to Veredos in that period. We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or purely economic loss arising from your use of the platform — this includes (without limitation) penalties, fines, lost rent, or tenant claims arising from compliance failures that the platform did not cause.
Termination
Either party may terminate a Veredos subscription on 30 days' written notice. On termination we make your data available for export for 60 days, after which it is securely deleted in line with our retention schedule.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
